Has anyone heard anything else about what`s going to happen with Countdown? I`ll be sorry to see Des O`Connor leave, he fits in there so well.

I think that Richard Digance would be a good replacement for Des.

I heard that they were "axing" it, it will be a shame as i think it is a lovely programme.

Actually Gyles Brandreth Is absolutely Perfect for the job. Read his CV on Wikipedia on that link. No only does he have connnections with Coundown going back years, he is into lexicology , Monopopy, scrabble, humour, wit and is an accomplished author of books about words etc. He was born for the job.
