I used to love it then, and i still do if i come across it on the oddball channels.
It was a shame when 'Harold' died at such a young age.

Hear hear! One of the great comedies, always tinged with sadness and a slightly dark undercurrent.
For me, one of the best moments is Albert sat in the tin bath, having his dinner off a plate on the bath rack......and he drops a pickled onion into the bath.............fishes about..........finds it.........and eats it!
Harold's face was a picture! _________________ There is a theory which states that if ever anyone discovers exactly what the Universe is for, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something more bizarre. There is another theory which states that this has already happened. |

How many did you watch??
I loved the one where Albert was making sandwiches, and his fag end fell onto the bread....he just buttered it in with the jam. :D |

I loved this series too, and it WAS tinged with sadness and had a bit of a "serious" side, because you just knew that Harold was dying to leave, but was too soft to leave the old fellow alone.
I loved the one where the two escaped convicts took shelter in their home, and they were exact copies of them, grumpy older guy and younger guy who wanted to spread his wings........
