I assumed paprika was like pepper..that you could only sprinkle a little. So how much would you put in a casserole then and what taste does it give?

Paprika is a type of pepper. It's just a sweeter pepper. It's not very strong, so you can be reasonably generous (I usually use about a teaspoon, although it depends on what you are cooking - a teaspoon is ok in a stew/casserole).

It tastes of a sweeter form of black pepper. Hot paprika is just a hotter version.

Neither is like chilli powder, which is just ground up dried chillies. It is similar, but not the same to cayenne pepper. Use minimally, according to taste.

Be careful though as they are all the same colour!!

I'm a great believer in experimentation when cooking hbrac. You can always add a teaspoon and then taste it, adding more if needs be.
