we've booked with thomas cook, but we booked last september, so we were lucky to get a free child place, so it cost £1920. for 2 weeks in august for 4 of us ( 2 adults and 2 kids). last year it was £2250. for the same thing, so it is quite expensive, but the place is lovely, its has a strip of shops and restaurants about a five min walk from the hotel and the main resort of side is about 2 miles away, but you can walk along the beach to it which takes about 45 mins, but the dolmus goes all the time or the taxis were about 5 euros last year, its also near komkoy, we're going to try visit there this year. if you want any info just pm me.

we went to bodrum couple of years ago now, and it was really good to eat and drink and not have to watch the pennies!

and mozzies.....................are there loads of them in july/aug?

we went in may before and there seemed to be loads!

thanks so much for your help........................kids have looked at the hotel and say thay
"want that one!"

hi karen,

turkey has gone up in price generally, although its still cheaper than other parts of europe, prices at the hotel are more expensive than at the bars outside, but they have happy hour twice a day and its worth stocking up on cans of coke etc for the fridge in the apartment during this time. i think we were paying about £15/20 for a meal and drinks for four last year in the restaurants. i think side area is a bit more expensive than other parts of turkey. the hotel has a snack bar which i think is good value and the kids love the food there. One thing worth knowing is that if you stay at any of the other barut hotels you can use all the facilities of the arum--but the arum is the only one with self catering apartments. i've only been to turkey in august and the mozzies aren't to bad, but you need a good repellent ( they were much worse in italy). hope this helps. have sent you a pm . ceri
