Hi,
We have just come back from a great holiday at the Lizo Hotel in Kalkan.
The flight out was spot on, no queues at check-in, flight more or less on time. Visa and passport control at Dalaman was greatly improved in the newly opened terminal.
We had gone D.I.Y. this year and had a private transfer to Kalkan, it was so lovely to come over the hill and see Kalkan Bay for the first time.
We had a lovely welcome from Ali and Sarah at the Lizo, we arrived at 5pm, just in time for a glass of cay with Ali, Sarah Gulsen, Memmet and Medine.

Lizo is a lovely 2 star family run hotel with a warm welcome over- looking Kalkan harbour, the rooms are spacious and clean with viewa over the harbour or the quiet pool area.
Breakfast is served on the roof and is Turkish style. A restuarant operates from there in the evening serving delicious meals (thanks Gulsen).

Kalakn is a harbour based town spreading out from the old town area with it's cris-cross lanes(which are predestrianised in the area). The pretty old town has many good restuarants(130+) and shops. The people are very friendly and not pushy.

We were lazy this year, but you can organise many trips from here or set out on your own on the dolmus. Sakilkent, Kerova, Xanthos, Letoon, Patara, Fetiyhe , scuba diving and gullet trips. Kalakn has small but very pleasant town beach(pebbly) and Kapataus and Patara beaches are a
close Dolmus ride away.

We came back on Saturday to cloudly weather, a thunder storm at lunch time and a grumpy huband ( not amused at our son's idea of housework). we are already planning to be back in Kalkan in September 2007.
