holiday books?

I have bought Rachel's Holiday by Marian Keyes for my holiday but i think i need to take something else too!

I'm normally a chick-lit girl but i feel like a bit of a change

Anyone got any good holiday books to suggest?

If you fancy a change, karin Slaughter does very good and quite easily readable thrillers, excellent books....best read in order though...I'll have a look and see which is the first one if you think you might like them? female medical examiner, her boyfriend is chief of police, murder type books!

minette walters is a good read as well if you'd like a change, also john grisham although i like his earlier ones rather than the more recent, oh and nikki french writes well, good thrillers. i'm a real chick lit fan, but i love all these authors as well.

dougie, my son takes ten and has to start re-reading them as he finishes..and he's only 13

they are often adults books too! I take about 6 usually.

heather, yes I think you are right, that's the first one - its a belter too!!!

wellllllllll......... I am only taking 2 as if i had my way my luggage would just be books, i am hoping to take 2 of my own personal choice ones and if i finish them then i can grab more books from a bookstore over there!

I read at home, but never take a book away!!
Maybe it's because we're not a beach/pool family... we're one of those annoying families that have to be up and about seeing the places we've paid money to visit!!

No i dont just read on holiday, i go out see places get my legs walke doff me, i read when we are relaxing and have a quite half an hour where you just want to relax.

i read the notebook by nicholas sparks on holiday last year. It took me two days to read. It just to happens that those two days I was feelinf slightly delicate and had to lie down next to the pool all day lol

tyr any of the books by Edward Rutherfurd:

Sarum; London; Russka or The Forest. They're pretty hefty, but the big bonus is they are episodic; after you've read a chapter or two the story moves on some years, so they're great to take on holiday - you can put it down and not worry about picking up the storyline when you restart.

I take about 10 books away with me on hols
I adore lazing in the sunshine with a book
never get the time to read during the day here so I love it

I take several in may suitcase and hand luggage and then buy some at the airport as well every magazine under the sun. I just love reading and ge tthrough a book a day sometimes!!!

I take trashy chick lit, something easy to read, Sophie Kinsella, Marion Keyes ect... I brought memoirs of a Geisha to take this year. I saw the film and loved it but it missed alot of the book out.

Funny, innit? My daughter & I read all the time at home, but hardly ever on holiday, while my wife is the total opposite. She usually picks up some second hand books, and leaves them at the hotel

Excellant holiday read and a true story too - absolutely riviting

People reading 10 - 16 books on a two week holiday!!! People in the apartment next to us on an Algarve holiday spent the whole week just reading. I like a good read as well as the next person, but a book a day would make me dizzy. Anyway I'm much more interested in exploring the place I'm in ( a good guide book helps though).
