right after hearing a few of you on here rant and rave about cyprus...i'm thinking of booking next year.

if i go it would be sometime in the middle of september...or possibly the middle of june.

can someone tell me ..in simple terms...what the weather is like at these times....would we have any chance of rain...or would it be mega hot.

can you also recommend an area to stay in.

it will just be me and hubby...i'd like a bit of beach...bit of night life but nothing like ayia napa (sorry but i've seen too many of those tv programmes thats put me right off of this place).

any help would be appreciated...thanks..xx

I would say June is hotter september will cool down but not too much , in september it will be quieter , the resorts will start to shut down due to the season closing down , i went in Feb last time and Ayia Napa was dead and protaras was half closed as they were doing major roadworks on the main street but it was still ok , but spetember shouldnt be that bad i hope (it snowed in feb as well :):))

Hi medot

Not been there in June myself, but have been in July, April and September. April was warm through the day but the nights definitely had a chill to them! Most places open beginning of April, but some are end of the month, but by June all will be open. I would say that June and September are about the same for temps, etc..

When we went in September last year, we found it hot during the day (but not unbearable) and still pretty warm in the evenings. It was also a lovely crowd of people that time of year - more mature!! Protaras is fully open right until 31st October, so September would be ok.

I would also say that the sea and pools would be warmer in September than June as they've had the summer heat right through.

September would be my choice!

Hope that helps

I stayed in Paphos one year late May early June...it was very hot..I don't know if we were just lucky or its like that most of the time. Would not recommend Paphos if you like a beach.

Hi Medot.

I was there in June and am going back in September.

In June it was late 90's and even went over 100 degrees for a couple of days.

I was there at the start of October last year and it was late 80's to early 90's.

Noy sure about the sea as I never go in myself but there were still loads of people in the sea last October.

I like to go to Pernera which is a small resort next tp Protaras but normally go into Protaras at night.

I gree with CL.......... Pernera Is lovely....... a resort just outside Protaras.......

As for been expensive? Personally I dont think It Is......... we went In July this year, and we were paying around £2.50 for Bar meals........ and around £7 for "main" meals.......... Lager was around £1.50 per pint......... and I never got charged for Lime either

Base your prices around English prices and you wont go far wrong......... and even be pleasantly suprised

right having a little look round and seeing what you've all put here.....THANKS.xx.....its looks like i'm looking at protaras..or near there for next year.

is it worth hiring a car?? bearing in mind i'm looking for going for just a week to start with.

if i did get a car...how easy is it to drive around...i can still remember the steep drops when we went to corfu!!

do you have to barter to buy things??

ok stupid question...but whats the toilet situation over there...is it the same as corfu...ie dont flush the paper away!!

and has anyone got any sites they can recommend so i can look at any pictures, check out the tourist information for the area.... ps....many thanks...to my friends here for your help....xx

We satyrd in Limassol and found it boring.....the hotel was fab but there was just nothing to do in the day or night.
We visited Paphos and Protaras for the day and if we went back I'd go to Paphos I think...it seemed a bit more lively.
Never done Aiya napa but have been told it's quite nice and not just for teenagers as I thought
