I'd say yes to the insect repellant as mozzies can be a nuisance there, especially if you're susceptible!
The money thing - best rate you get is to take sterling with you and change into CYP£ when you're there.
Can''t help with the rest I'm afraid as I've only been to Paphos for a day before! Usually went to the South or East......sorry.
I'm envious of you going though!

Right Dottie.......... 1...... Insect repellent needed?..... If you are usually bitten, even at home, then yes.... me and hubby have never had a problem, but his mum ALWAYS gets bitten over here, and she did when we went to Cyprus..... ...2... I would personally take sterling to change into Cypriot money.... otherwise you will have to pay to change from Travs Cheques to Cypriot money...... 3...... How much money? Well as a family of four, we usually based ourselves on £100 per day.... and includes activities, etc...... always seemed to be OK...... 4........ Hiring a car........ 5........ eating out? .. sorry, not been to Paphos so cant advise......... I do know that last year hubby hired an open top jeep for 2 days and it was £58....... or a Scooter for a week for £34....... ....... ...... hope thats the right order....... and I was thinking earlier on today......... this time last year.......... we had JUST got to Protaras.... the EXACT date........ to start our holiday......... ......... ......... wish I was back there again....... _________________

one minor thing they use the same plugs as us. So no need for those silly plugs they use throughout europe. _________________ Ian |

If your hiring a car and thinking of going up Troodos mountains might be worth getting one with slightly bigger engine size especially if you are going to use the air/con. The small engined car we had really struggled.
If your property is air/con then you should not have too much bother with mozzies in the night, just need repellent when out and about. If you have a fan in the room this can prevent the little blighters from taking to the air.
And Cyprus is very hot (too hot for my liking in summer) so slap on the extra suncream. |

OOhhh forgot to say that Dottie... you MUST go to the Troodos Mountains.... there are a couple of waterfalls you must stop and see...... Trimikini is lovely.... theres a "private" garden where you can pay to go in (only about £2 entry)....... it slopes gently down, with Hens, chickens etc roaming around free.... right at the bottom is a waterfall..... must advise you though, its absolutely FREEZING!!! .. some of the views are breathtaking.... _________________

Medot I've just remembered from our visit to Paphos that we ate in a restaurant in the harbour called the Moorings. When we got back I was talking with Helen, and it was one of her favourites too, so that might be nice to go to
She also recommended the Phivos, which is further along, going away from the harbour.
Hope that helps some.

Not sure if this is relevent Dottie, but they also drive on the same side of the roads as us, aswell... and the road signs are in English... so you shouldnt get lost if you go anywhere..... ......... _________________

dotie here are some answers
1 yes you need plug in thingies, we used them and the good old Avon spray and only got bitten once.
2.We took cyprus money and sterling travelers cheques rates seemed similar in most places.
3. Money depends we went all inclusive but looking around it did seem expensive
4.not sure about the car hire as we didn't.
5. Eating out we went to Fat Mammas and had a fab meal and a good laugh.
another few points plugs are the same as ours , toilet paper can't be put down the loos. the buses are great and cheap. always agree on a price before you get into a taxi.
anything I can help with let me know. _________________ [url=http://www.TickerFactory.com/]
