Winter gardeningDo you bother?
I will sometimes feel inspired to buy some winter flowering pansies (that never seem to flower until the spring ) but generally I put the pots to bed in the winter and drag them out again next spring. I work full time so it's dark morning and night and I wouldn't see much of them in any case.
It's definitely something to do with the seasons - winter and early spring I look at it and can't be bothered and then I get the urge to visit the garden centre and off we go again

We concentrate on our house plants during the winter, bulbs and orchids and cyclamen etc Our patch outside gets very water logged in the winter and being heavy clay we try not to disturb it too much or it just turns to a gluey grey substance

We only have a tiny little patch at the front of the flat and that is mostly full of shrubs of different colours. It needs weeding now ready for bulbs to go in for Spring but I'm never sure when I'm supposed to plant them
We also have large families of cats living either side and they keep digging up the bulbs.

Yes....plant your spring bulbs now
We already have some shooting here
I love to see them and once they are in they should come up every year. Well worth the effort.
