WhoamI ?I don't know if this will work, but its worth a try. WhoamI is a guessing game where you have to identify a photograph /picture of a mystery person, and it should be suitably difficult for he following reasons:-.
Rules for setting the picture :- The person setting the question finds a photograph of someone who :-
a) At some time was a publicly familiar face, perhaps had 5 minutes of fame on TV or in films, the news or newspapers and books - and is hardly seen at all nowadays.
b) A historical figure who is only known from archived pictures or paintings, a politician, inventor or monarch.
c) If a more popular or recent celebrity is used, they may be in disguise or fancy dress, have part of their face obscured. The person may have changed their apearance over the years,or your picture may be of a child but we only know the adult version.
d) the jpeg must be re-named before uploading to avoid cheating.
Rules for guessing who it is:-
1. If you recognise who it is you may have ONE guess in your post, and may not have another guess until the person setting the picture has replied to your post. (Other people may ask in the meantime).
2. If you don't know who it is, you may ask ONE question, worded such that it may be answered YES or NO. You may only ask ONE question until such time as you receive an answer to your previous one.(Other people may ask in the meantime).
3. If the picture is sufficiently hard it may run for some time and you may need to wait until the 'picture setter' next comes on line before the game continues.
4. For the time being, the giving of clues is forbidden, as they can ge Googled. Possible cryptic clues or more helpful replies may be allowed if all else fails after a suitable time.
5. The winner is the first person to correctly name the person in the picture. They have the option of selecting the next mystery person, or may decide to pass it on to a voluntier.
OK, first picture (you watch someone will know this immediately)
Whoami?

Musicman .. You didn't ask a question, so I can't answer it.
A voluntier is like a Gondlier. They both take a punt.
|
hilda

If you ask the right questions you can narrow down what media he is/was most commonly seen on and during what year(s).

Silverpixie (Admin)

is he an actor?
|
Frank
|
Silverpixie:- No
|
musicman
|
Is he a political commentator/reporter/pundit on TV?
|
Frank
|
Musicman, strictly NO (to the first part, he had very specific task - but was on TV)
|
hilda
|
news night presenter
|
Frank
|
Hilda, No. It really would help you enormously if you could narrow down what year this person was on TV.
You can do this quickly by 'halving' eg before 1990 ? before 1980 ? before 1970? then halve the differences till you guess the year.
|
hilda
|
but im only young
!!!
1972
|
Frank
|
1972 No . why didn't you ask if it was before 1980 ? thus eliminating (or otherwise ) loads of years instead of guessing just one ?
|
hilda
|
cos im thick
you dare say Yes to that one mister?
|
Frank
|
That wasn't a question
|
hilda

Hilda we already know he wasn't on Telly before 1972. THat includes ALL years since the world was created. Perhaps we now know he was on AFTER 1972 ?

YES
You cracked it Carol. Not Much about him on the internet, but he was the M.O.D Civil servant who delivered the briefings about The Falklands war. The most memorable thing about him was the funereal monotonic way he delivered bad or good news.
http://www.channel4.com/news/you_saw_it_happen/falklands_1982 Click on his picture, then go to the page about him, then watch the report at the bottom...
Also..

Might I suggest that you'll make more progress if you forget about the medicine and try and find out what that something else is ?
