WHAT CAN I PUT IN MY BORDERShi, not been at the gardening lark for very long and need a bit of help. Now that my perennials have died away I notice that I have two large areas of "mud" where I have no plants in the winter. Can you give me some advice on some good "all year" plants which I could use in these areas. I have some bulbs there (bluebells & snowdrops) but really need some low planting to brighten these corners up in the winter. Any advice?

Skygal, a good tip is to go look round a garden centre or nursury now, and see what is in flower (which wont be much) and choose something suitable. You say your'perrenials' have died...im assuming you mean 'annuals' that you put in for every summer? You may find that 'foliage' plants are better for this spot, if you want 'year-round' colour - something that changes colour thru its leaves with the seasons?

Thanks guest. I will go and have a look. Just hate seeing the bare patches - which then fill up with weeds !!
Told you I didn't know much about gardening - couldn't even get the name right!! I just know what I like.
