Tagatelle and MushroomsI have some fresh tagatele in the fridge and some mushrooms.
Has anyone got a nice recipe for Tagatelle and Mushrooms in cream sauce, not the shop bought sauce though.
I fancy making it for dinner tonight.
Thanks

Sorry, just noticed this.
Yuk, shop bought sauces! YUK!!!!
Here is one I just thought of.
Onions, mushroom, pancetta or cubes of bacon, cream (double or creme fraise), saffron, garlic, white wine (or sherry).
Fry off onions lightly until soft.
Add a few chopped cloves of garlic (I usually use at least 3 cloves for a 2 person size portion)
Soften, but not brown
Add mushrooms and bacon
Meanwhile, add a few strands of saffron to a few teaspoons of water.
When nearly done, add a good size glass of white wine. Bring to boil and cook the alcohol off, whilst still retaining the liquid.
Add the saffron water
Season
Add a dash of worchester sauce.
Add the cream (not too much). Warm gently.
I like LOADS of black pepper.
Simple.
The sauce will cling to that gorgeous tagetelle.

That sounds very nice though, I will try it myself.
I had pasta with prawns and a shop bought sauce last night & it was tasteless.

Are you doing my receipe?
I did this myself the other day and it was lovely, but I did it with chicken and added paprika and a bit of chicken stock.
You don't need to add a lot of cream either, keep adding a bit at a time and taste until you get the amount of creamy texture and flavour you want.
Are you adding the pancetta/bacon? Make sure it's crispy before you add anything else.
Enjoy!

Hi GQB
Yes I am doing your receipe, but no I won't be adding the bacon (I don't eat Pork)
The Chicken sounds good, but I had chicken last night, so just veggie version tonight.
I'll do the chicken version next week.

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm it was delicious.
I feel all fat and full now lol.
I uses red onion so it looked like I had bacon in it.
I might try it with bacon next time for hubby.
I can pick it out
I will definitely try it with Chicken though.
Thank you for the recipe, I will put it in my book.

YW.
The chicken also works well with peppers. Creme freche, incidentally, has less fat than double cream and works just as well.

Yes, your often see green ones with red/orange tips
I prefer the red pointed pepper though, they have more taste.
