Slow cookersHad one of these for Xmas as do alot of casseroles etc.
However was just wondering about thickening the gravy towards the end?
Usually I put some cornflour or gravy mix in to thicken when cooking in the oven.
Can I do this at about the same time as I would in a normal cooker as I know the slow cooker takes longer?
Also heard that tins of condensed soups are good as a sauce in them?

Snowqueen just bought myself one of these, thought it might be useful, with me working kids in school etc.
Can't help with the question, sorry, will let you know if I get any disasters, or success though

Snowqueen use mine all time in winter. You can use campbells soups for thickening up, they work a treat.
As for using cornflour, I always put it in at the end about an hour or so before I am ready to serve the meal and turn it up to either medium or high!!
Good luck with it. Best thing I ever invested in

Thanks for the response
Well I did my first chilli in it and it was "melt in the mouth" and so much more tastier.
Would welcome anymore good meals to do in it

They're great for cooking joints in. Brown it all off in the pan, then bung it in slow cooker. The meats just falls apart. Delicious!
Also use it for soups, stews & casseroles. Great for coming home to a cooked meal on those days when you just can't be bothered cooking
