So has anyone been here recently....How do you rate it as a holiday destination
What's the nightlife like
Any feedback gratefully appreciated
I'm considering here for Sept.....only in thinking stages at the moment

Nightlife is crap, very pretty place but night life non-existent as you and Al enjoy.

Lorraine my mate is going at Easter so give me a poke just after and I will PM you or post on here what she thinks

I have been Paignton and while we thoroughly enjoyed the days because it is a beautiful place there were no bars with entertainment in the evenings only bingo bars, Lorraine has been my friend for a long time and I have been away on holiday with her and I know she will not like that.

Well obviously I did not realise that you knew each other that well and you did not put in your original post that you had been

Well I've joined a Salou website and I stand corrected
There are apparently many Irish bars and also a few Tribute bars.Someone on the forum there told me the nightlife is as good as Magaluf......
I'm still a bit dubious as I don't want to go all that way to be bored.....but then again there is not that much to do in the evenings in many resorts we've been to
Lloret de mar
Playa de las Americas
Torremolinos
To name a few.....yet we've always managed to enjoy ourselves.
Lets just say the jury is still out on this

As these are totally conflicting opinions, which one is nearer the truth?

maybe Magaluf is a bit tame for tango?

Tony
It's many years since I was last in Salou
It was dead quiet at the time but I had heard it has picked up as a resort so I thought I'd investigate
I suspect when Pepsigirl was there last it was much as it was when I was there but I've been told that the entertainment scene has now improved vastly
It's not in the same league as Benidorm....well no-where is
Someone compared it to Magaluf hence my comment

Seems that way Tango...I googled `Salou nightlife` and the first 2 links seem to sum it up:
http://www.indigoguide.com/spain/salou-night-life.htm
http://www.salou-tourist-guide.com/en/club/salou-nightlife.html
Certainly graphic enough to put me off! I get hectic nightlife all year around! Give me the Galapagos islands anyday!

I don't need to go clubbing and getting off my face everynight
I do however like to go for the odd drink or two and get entertained while I partake in this hobby
If you have a look on here....click pubs on the left and there are quite a few offerring entertainment
http://www.salou.co.uk/
Nothing is definite yet I'm just looking for somewhere to get away and have a good time
to be honest a nice hotel with a good pool and good food is more important
