Report on holiday in ayia napaJust returned from ayia napa this morning. It was fantastic.
The best thing about ayia napa is that it is huge! Yes it is geared up for the under 25 clubbing market however there is more than enough for couples of any age and families. In saying that my report does highlight the clubbing side of ayia napa
HOTEL
I stayed in the centre at Napa Plaza. This hotel was superb and cost £1115 for 2 people flying from glasgow B&B. It was hard to believe that this hotel was in the centre of ayia napa as it was beautiful and quiet. In my party there was a 20 and a 22 year old so the hotel like to group all the young ones on the same level with their balconys facing the square and monestry. These are the noisest rooms however it never affected me. the reason the hotel does this is because the noise dies down at 2am as the clubs open so by the time i stumbled home at 4 or 6 it was quiet. My parents were in the same hotel and you couldnt hear anything in their room as there room was based away from the the square side. Best thing about the hotel is either the gorgeous cypriot animations man of the free champagne on arrival!! I can't decide
DAY TIME
Nissi beach was the best beach in my eyes. It is situated towards the adam beach hotel. Its a 5 minute drive in the car from ayia napa centre. I would not advise walking it though. There are lots of taxis and buses there . The beach has a causeway and a type of island that you can climb. Brilliant for snorkelling. I went jet skiiing which was an experince.
Famagusta is a must. I wasn't too bothered about going but thought i would. I looked through the binoculars and what i saw still shocks me. A city as big as benidorm empty. Cranes just hang there. The lovely man and woman who own the little cafe told us all about their experences and the loved ones that are still 'missing'. Their little museum was fantastic.
NIGHTLIFE (square)
Best bar was Bedrock. The flintstones themed bar stays open until 2am.This bar is mainly karaoke but with the funniest guy as a compere. The booze is reasonable price wise and they bar gives out lots of free shots. This bar is not for families
Castle club is also great. There are 4 different levels with different types of music. There is also an open seating area on the roof. Entry depends on night but averages about CYP10.
Monkey business was just a fun little bar. For CYP2 you would get a triple vodka and 4 shots of sambuca!! cheapest bar on the island I think

Is the Flinstones themed Bar called Bedrock by any chance  
Ive seen this before...... unless theres another one. Hopefully when we go to Protaras this year we will get the chance to go Into Ayia Napa for the evening....... my Inlaws are going with us you see........   ........ I just fancy going on a nightime to see what the atmospheres like
Did you manage to get to The Waterpark or Funfair while you were there?

Bedrock is the flintstones themed bar. Its really good. There are characters everywhere and the dj box is in an egg. Its good.

I went to protaras a years ago. I went along to protaras for the day this year too. I think if I was going with my boyfriend or when I have kids protaras would be great however I think ayia napa is a great clubbing resort, which is what I wanted

Yes i do agree, we went as a group of 9 of us so protaras suited us... I am definitely going back to Cyprus maybe even consider Ayia Napa.
