Red Cabbage RecipeThought some of you might like to try this - it is delicious.
Fry 1 large Chopped Onion in oil until it begins to soften
Add half teaspooon of allspice of cinnamon
Stir in 550g of shredded/chopped red cabbage with a quarter pint of vegetable stock and four tablespoons of Red Wine Vinegar (or red wine) and 50g Sultanas (optional).
Season with salt and pepper
Cover and simmer for 10 minutes.
Add one peeled, cored and chopped apple and simmer for further 10 minutes.

Thats how I do mine too and it is lovely, tho I use apple juice instead of vinegar.

I do mine with loads of tomato ketchup.....I know it sounds horrid but it gives that right mixture of sweet and sour.
I do it with a fried onion apple as well as the ketchup.
Only thing is I cook mine for about 2 hours but I can't shred it so maybe my slices are a bit thick?
