Protaras............. Cyprus A fabulous resort for couples and families alike.
Young singles, I would recommend Ayia Napa however......... plenty more Bars and nightclubs to choose from.  When hubby and I hired a Scooter, we went to see the famous "Square" In Ayia Napa, where all the young ones hang out.... obviously It was all closed as we went during the day........ but you would not BELIEVE the amount of Bars available In one place!  ........ there must have been at least 30 Bars..... not to mention Nightclubs....... one nightclub we saw was £35 for entrance fee alone 
Protaras has some lovely Beaches....... obviously FigTree Bay, and Yianni Marie amongst the best......... Green Bay, around a 5 minute car trip up the road from Protaras Is absolutely stunning....... Cavo Maris Hotel Is situated here. ........ loads of little bays Ideal for Snorkelling.......
Eating out In Protaras, and Pernera (a little resort In Itself a little further up from Protaras) Is really good......... plenty of cuisine to choose from, from standard Bar Meals (Cheers Bar on Protaras "strip" do lovely meals at a good price....... and huge portions!)......... to Chinese, Italian, Greek, Fish & Chips ......... yes Im not Joking  ........... plenty to choose from.
Expect to pay around £1.50 for a pint of Lager (we never got charged for Lime)......... soft drinks around £1. Cocktails are around £2.00 each.
........ plenty of Watersports available throught Protaras and Pernera........
........ a visit to Waterworld at Ayia Napa Is a must........
You must do the 2 and a hour Boat Trip from Protaras...... Shirleey Valentine. It cost us £5 per adult and £2.50 per child...... It takes you to Cape greko, where you get to dive off the Boat..... upto Famagusta ....... on board you get free wine (okay after the first glass has gone down )........ trad meatballs........ melon........ fruit juice, sweets, crisps and popcorn for kids....... excellent value for money!
 We id go on another Boat Trip for 6 hours It said....... but we thought It was a con :evil: ........ the 6 hours Included getting picked up from your Apts, and picking other people up. I worked out It was around 4 hours at sea....... but you only go the same distance along the shore.... they just stop more times for you to Jump In the Sea from the Boat....... It said It was a BBQ....... you just got a sald with a Chicken Kebab! This was £11 per adult and £5.50 per child......... go on the cheaper one...... Its better value for money.
Protaras Is a very lively, family orientated resort........ be aware though, that there are lots of "mimic" acts........ ie Elvis, Kylie, Tom Jones etc........ We found Eric Ray In the Loveboat as Elvis, very good.
Plenty of shops around aswell............ expect to pay from £1.50 for a bottle of wine.......... we paid £6.50 for a Litre bottle of Smirnoff Vodka...... ..... from what I saw (neither me or hubby smoke) expect to pay around £17 for 200 Cigs.
Protaras Is lovely............ and dont let anybody tell me any different.........

Totally ar=gree i have stayed in both Ayia Napa , a few years ago cant even remember the apt name and Protaras at the Golden Star , loved Protaras , the beach was right next door and the food at the Yianni Marine restaraunt was top knotch , will be going back probably in a ouple of years

Great report dancing lady.
I just can't wait to go to ayia napa. i like protaras and the beaches but for nightlife it is ayia napa for us.
