We have just returned home from 3 nights staying at the Iron Gate hotel in Prague and have thoroughly enjoyed our stay, what a great location , we were 2 minutes from the old town square, the hotel is fabulous, being a conversion from a 14th century building, it doesn't look much from outside but inside its lovely, there is a really nice courtyard in the middle and we spotted someone coming in off the street to take photos.
We booked a de-luxe one bedroomed suite (suite 212) and it was lovely, . The rooms were spacious and luxurious,we even had a jaccuzi. The staff were friendly and welcoming, the bedding and towels were changed every day. It is certainly worth its 5* status.

im looking at booking a 5 day break to prague mid january, anybody recommend anything as i havent got a clue where to start?

Thanks

I went to prague last year for a weekend honeymoon, Please dont wear heels at night,, you will walk and walk for a decent bar.. and expect all bar owners to understand english.. i ordered 2 lagers and got coca cola..
tried explaining and woman said ahhhhhhh beer... lager is beer? in england.. she then began laughing at us and takin the mick to her freinds who then started laughing... we left..other than that prague is a nice place but i was bored and couldnt wait to go home,, best thing about prague is their food... its incredible,, may only be their staple diets but its beautiful cuisine. we decided to go to a nightclub,, only to fond that it was in fact a strip club..

We stayed at the Hotel Da Vinci, very nice rooms and the reception was really modern too.

Just back from Prague and all I can say is BRILLIANT!

Had a great time - food and drink cheap and the locals we met were all friendly and could speak quite good English.

My friend was 40 and wanted a break full of fun - and boy did she get it!! We laughed so much (booze a factor) that my neck actually hurt after!

We stayed at the Ibis City Hotel - was £33 per night B+B per room so £17 each and the flight was £49 with Easyjet. The Ibis is exactly the same as the ones here - clean, tidy, modern and comfortable.

We took a guide book - Top Ten Of Prague - worth every penny. We went to some of the recommended restaurants and bars and we were very impressed.

Cant wait to go again!

We stayed in Prague in April, its a lovely place, can't recommend it highly enough!

We stayed at the Best Western Kinksky Gardens: its a little off the centre but walkable and quiet.

My top tip: book a taxi transfer from the airport in advance and avoid the dodgy mafia run taxis :)
