Yes I'm loving Pop goes the Weasel but I think there was a book inbetween that I've missed
I should really read them in order.
What's Jonathan Kellerman like??

Chelseagirl

I have just finished reading a book by Fred & Rose Wests nanny, it was called THE LOST GIRL by Caroline Roberts, a good read, what vile people the Wests were.
And now I am reading agreat book, Norman Wisdom's autobiography, what a great bloke........ I am up to chapter 9 already, I can't put it down.
I love Norman.

Tango Bunny, Jonathan Kellerman`s main character is a psychologist named Alex Delaware, who also helps the police and gets involved in cases. You don`t HAVE to read them in order, but as with James Patterson, the characters have private lives where things keep changing, and if you read them in order you keep up better, and it`s less confusing. I`ve just started the Karin Slaughter one, does she have regular characters? It`s just that I was wondering if I ought to read hers in order or if it doesn`t matter.

Forgot to mention, Jonathan Kellerman`s wife, Faye Kellerman also writes, hers are thrillers, quite good, but I`ve only read a couple so far.

High guys,
guest suggested I should have a look in here - number, you read a bit don't you.
And Chelseagirl, I love Norman as well - there just are no comedians like him anymore - clean, funny, widely appealing.
Just started The Associate by Phillip Margolin (0-316-85968-0)
A critic states that he Easily challenges Grisham and as I've most of his I gave Margolin a try. Impressed so far. Straight into the story, empathise with the main character, know there's more to come that's not quite revealed.
Last book finished was by Valerio Massimo Manfredi - named "Tyrant" (0-330-42654-0). About Dionysius and set in Sicily in 412BC. He's a writer of historical fiction. A trilogy of his I've read, about Alexander the Great was temendous. Universal have bought the film rights (not sure if the recent release of Alexander is by Universal).
If you like historical fiction set in the Greco-Romano period he's your man.
Got loads lined up for the hols in July - any good ones that I think might appeal will be mentioned on here.

Hi Mike, yes I do read quite a bit, but sorry to say I`m not too keen on John Grisham, only read a couple, but wasn`t tempted to try more. A historical book that I liked was one I read years ago, called A Queen`s Confession, about Marie Antoinette. I can`t remember the author, I was lent the book, so haven`t got it now.

Finished Pop goes the Weasel......loved it
Reading Eoin Colfer's....The Supernaturalist
I love this mans books
I suppose you's class him with Phillip Pulman and J K Rowling.
Books written for children but with adult appeal.
His Atemis Fowl series was great
This one I found in the adult section so I thought it would be more adult but seems to be written for the teenage market so far
Good author nevertheless

Not according to his official website....but I bet he's working on something.
I wasn't as keen on Digital fortress as the rest of them.....Angels and Demons is the best I think
Gail I liked Vanishing Acts but not as much as The Pact or Plain Truth.

I`ve never read Jodi Picoult, what sort of books does she write?
Of the 3 Dan Brown books I`ve read, I loved Angels and Demons and The Da Vinci Code, but found Digital Fortress a bit technical and difficult to follow sometimes, but didn`t dislike it.

this arrived today from Amazon
'More ketchup than salsa' by Jow Cawley.
When joe and his girlfriend joy deicide to trade in their life ona cold lancashire fish market to run a bar in the Tenerife sunshine, they anticipate a paradise of sea, sand and siestas. Little do they expect their foreign fantasy to turn out to be about exotic as Grimsby on a wet Monday morning.
Admist a host of eccentric locals, homesickness and the occasional cockroach infestation, pint pulling novices joe and joy struggle with 'Brits abroad' culture and learn that, although the skies might be bluer, the grass is sefinitely not always greener.
More ketchup than salsa lifts the lid on the morning-afters as well as the night-befores of life in a busy holiday resort. A must read for anybody who has ever dreamed about jetting off to sunnier climes.

I`m finding Straight Into Darkness a bit hard going, not like Faye Kellerman`s usual stuff. The actual plot and storyline I don`t have a problem with, but it`s set in Munich in 1929, and a lot of German terms are used, and as I`m not a scholar in German I`m finding it a bit off-putting, and it slows my reading down a bit, as I find myself trying to pronounce things in my head.
