Looking to go self catering in september and want to be near the Royal Gardens, have tried the Jardine del playa before but was a bit disapointed with the accommodation. Any ideas please Smile

Hi London girl,
We stayed at the playas Del Rey last August.It was a nice hotel in a good location at the south end of the beach.We booked bed and breakfast through Thomson Small and Friendly.Not much going on entertainment wise but plenty of bars,restaurants nearby and a short stroll to the Irish side.Rooms were a good size and cleaned regularly.Small pool and a roof terrace which was great for sun bathers.
Another place which has great reviews is The Jutlandia.Mandy holiday swears by it. Very Happy .If you have kids the Jutlandia is the better bet.
Isn't the Jardine up near the Square.The two hotels I've mentioned are about a 20min walk from the square,Good exercise though.
As for Santa Ponsa itself I found it to be on the small side.After a week we went off to Palma,Soller,Palma Novaand Magaluf.Cost a fortune in taxis Sad Have a good one wherever you chose.We're looking to Palma nova this year.

Thanks for the info Fenderman, I agree with what you say about Santa Ponsa, the reason we go there is to see Mark Ritchie the resident singer at the Royal Gardens. We have been to Santa Ponsa 6 times but usualy stay up near the spainish square but were wondering if we could get better accomodation elsewhere. Will look at your suggestions,
