Hi Cadge. The flight time is about 3 hours to Bourgas, with another 30 -45 minutes transfer time. Some flights go to Varna, which has a transfer time of some 2 hours or so, so watch out!
Weather in May should be fine, high 60s - 70s.
You might want to look at the Helena Park/Helena Sands complex - it got rave reviews last year, and a mate of mine stayed there, he said it was superb.
