hmmm wel one of the larger islands Id say Gypsey, the smaller ones are not really into organised kids stuff but they will have water sports.

I would suggest Crete you and the kids will love it. If you are up for exploring there is lots to do. Excellent beaches and if you time it right the snow on the mountains. For a family look at the Royal Belvedere in Herrsonisos. It is on the edge of town and away from the noise and just a short walk to the beach and Starbeach which the kids will love.
If you cannot give up Turkey easily, try Rhodes as you can just pop over when you need a fix!!

I'd say Protaras at the east end of (southern) Cyprus. It's a quiet place with all you need, including a nice beach and only a few miles away is busy Ayia Napa. As well as island tours, tours are available to a number of other destinations including Egypt. A car is handy there so take a driving licence.
If you go to Turkey in late July you probably can guess how hot the Greek islands can be so air conditioning is good. Sometimes you have to pay a bit extra when there, like Turkey.
