My Cyprus holidaywell i'm back after having spent the week in paphos.
i'll be fair and say a week wasn't really long enough to see what we wanted to see....but going when we did it was just too hot to do much!!
we stayed at the pioneer beach hotel in paphos, an adults only hotel. it was an ok hotel...spotlessly clean...but a little bit dated...it had a sort of "70's" feel to it!!...i'm not saying all the guests were that age...but...
heres a view from our balcony....
and one taken from the hotels beach....
this is one we took of the sunset on the beach....
we went to the tomb of the kings. it was a shame because it was mega hot this day and we just couldn't do much walking around....but heres a few pictures...before the sweat was dripping off us!!
we spent a day going into the troodos mountains....lovely area and spectacular views.....
i think this the top of mount olympus...
this was a little monastry we found en route...
we had to be careful where we stepped....lizards everywhere...and some whoopers too!!
we spent some time at aphodites rock....beautiful area...reminded me of the white cliffs of dover in places!!
heres the first view you see walking through the underpass...
a few of the rocks...
my last view of the rock...
we spent a day snorkeling at a little fishing village agios georgios...
we had a fantastic meal at the Pelican restaurant by the paphos harbour....heres me with the owner...well a bloke anyway who was all teeth!!!
hubbys stuffed seabass!!...
i'll end with one of hubby having overdone it when we went to coral bay!!!
just call him pink and white...and dont worry he was fine the next day.
all in all cyprus was ok it had a very british feel to it...which was a bit of a shame...going upto the mountains was great because we then felt we were in another country ...going through all the little villages. and my only regret is we didn't spend more time looking at the monastries...the ones we saw were amazing. i could have easily toured the island just looking at those.
