Mesmeranthum (Spelling?)

Sorry if the above is spelt incorrectly but it sounds something like that. I have an abundance of these plants in pots.....they are vidid pink and look like a daisy. They open in the sunshine and close in the shade. Anyway up till last week I had a glorious show of flowers, which have all died off. I have now dead headed them, can anyone tell me if I will get a second show of flowers this summer, or is it all over?
Thanks

I think u mean Mesembryanthemum .
If they are the annual that opens in the sun and closes at night then yes you should have a second showing.continue to water in some feed like Phostrogen and you should see some buds re-appearing within a couple of weeks

HI Tango,
Thanks for that, yes that's the name I meant. Also what should I do with these once they have stopped flowering totally. The one's I have, were in the pot from last year, I did not cut them back so they look slightly straggely and the leaves are grey looking. The flowers were beautiful and in abundance.

well they don't usually come back the following year as they are annuals. There are some varieties that are perenniel but as I've only ever had the type you throw away after 1 season I'm not to sure.....saying that I put some mimulus in last year and they have re-flowered again this year
If you want to keep them for next year but think they look a little tired then you could try cutting one back just to see if it will re-sprout.Cut back to about 4 leaves from the bottom......can't do any harm if you just do 1 and it goes wrong then you have only lost the 1 plant
did they die back completely in the winter??

They just looked kind of "twiggy" and the leaves (which are more like little jiucy bulbs) went a bit grey. But other than that they have been really fantastic, everyone has commented on them. Perhaps they survived because my garden is pretty sheltered?
As you may have gathered I am by no means a gardener. ha ha!

My garden is also sheltered which is why my annuals last for a second season.....I suspect they will get tired and die off during the winter......seeds are cheap enough though get a packet and sow into fresh pots of compost in the spring....place pots in plastic bags and seal with a tie and put on the windowsill to germinate....water as needed until seeds pop up and then oops out and transplant into bigger pots

These flowers always make a beautiful show don't they.

I remember years ago in Jersey we sawa bungalow with a huge bank at the front and it was covered in these flowers must have been about five hundred plants or more - wow they were spectacular

I haven't got any this year I clean forgot to get the seeds.I have 2 huge concrete troughs under my kitchen window and I usually put them in there....but I forgot this year so I have bizzie lizzies in there instead
