LANZAROTE pt 1Well been back a month and said i would do a report so here it is
We flew out of Manchester on 3/5 to Arrecife with First choice airlines , the airport was very busy and as it was T2 only 1 bar , the queues were huge so only had a couple before flying  , we decided not to have meals onboard so took pringles on a nd a sarnie or two and we were put at the very back of the plane wioth all the rest of the skinflints  , the booze trolly seem to appear every 20 mins in that section and by the time we got off us and most of the others were well oiled , the transfer was very quick but we were the last off and finally we arrived at the Flora Apartments on AVNDA REINA SOFIA
The Flora apts are above the old town in PDC on Avdn Reina Sofia , its a five minute downhill walk to the harbour
On arrival we were met by Juan the receptionist , thisbloke was slightly dippy but very friendly , he gave us the keys for room 375 , which was across the road , which we got to by the underpass , connecting the two parts of the complex , well we got there opened the door to be comfronted by someone else cases ??? so went back to the reception and explained what had happened , Juan was very apologetic and gave us the key for 344 , we found this room wasnt inpressed with it due to a tree growing in the patio but need kip so decided to speak to reception the Friday morning ,
This i did and for a charge of 30€ moved to 370 , which was a amazing room ,
Anyway the apts have 2 pools one of either side of the road , the larger on on the other side to us was very busy most days , and very cramped , there seemed to be not enough sunbeds and most of them were "towelled" very early in the morning , on our side there was a smaller pool but was very quiet and peaceful
There was a restaraunt and bar by the pool , the food was ok breakfast was 3.50€ and was anything you could think off, lunch and tea could be had but we didnt bother but some people said it was quiet good, there was aqlso a AI option of 30€ per day and a lot were taking advantage of that for 1 week of a 2 week hol
Ther was a disco/nightclub which bizzarely the AI lot could not get drinks from , that caused eruptions for a few and choice words were said , the nightly entertainmant was here and i can only describe it as CRAP, we saw a snake show , a bloke sticking needles in his throat and the worst of all a GREASE show , which as the entertainers were dutch , i can only assume Grease the film was never shown in Holland it was that bad , the only reason most people were there was they were AI and even thou they couldnt get drinks in that bar they just went over to the pool bar
There was a supermarket very very well stocked and some things were cheaper than the main one down the road , and the staff were very plesant and always smiling
also around was a souvenir shop which i saw open once and a hairdresser
Internet access was in the main reception 4 pcs were there and it was 1€ for 10 mins
All the reception staff were brilliant especially Alfonso and Maria and after the balls up on the first night we asked about a late check out which they charge 30€ for and theygave it to us Gratis for there mistake
Very nice complex would definitely go again ,
Restaraunts we went to were in order of brilliance , a tex mex next to the tropical bar on the main strip the food was to die for and i had the biggest T Bone i have ever seen , Bahia playa ? on the harbour , san miguel on the harbour , Bar Playa where the watersports are based , others we went to were not to clever two by the harbour cant remember there names but we got the wrong order in both , one next to dolca vita on the strip were i had fish cooked in salt and was unimpressed also one down from the place towards pocillos were mine was ok but julies lasagna was brnt and uneatable
Bars were much the same visited a lot but the tavern was the best , red rose and Tipsys on the way down the hill were ok but very quiet
We met friends from Manchester one night and also some from scotland for 2 sucsessive days were a few others joine3d us for a sort of Bash LOL
all in all brillint time brillint weather and we will be back very soon !!!!!!

Just Googled Flora appts....they look lovely.
I love Lanza......hoping to go back myself next year

Glad you had a brilliant time TOBG  Obviously the phone system must have been down the whole time you were there

Hi TOBG, we've been to Lanza too, came back early this month, also stayed in PDC.
Absolutely loved it!!
When I get round to it, I'll also do a report on here.....

Thanks everyone , forgot to put down the name of literally the worst place i have ever eaten ANYWHERE El Burro on Reina Sofia , very close to the apts was absolutely terrible and i wouldnt reccomend anyone going there ,
as for next year , nope this year again in december , and lets just say we are considering going for good next year we will have to see

Part 2 is happening as we speak , unfortunately i couldnt get another week of this summer so Julie is with her youngest daughter and her mate , they are staying at Los Pueblos which are just behind the Flora and even though she has said she propably wouldnt go back to the complex she is loving the place again and you could say it is holiday and fact finding mission ,
We have booked again for december and then will probably make the final decision , me i have decided Julie needs a little reassurance
anyway will get details off her when she gets back on Thursday and post a review from her about the complex and the other bars she has visited
PS if anyone is venturing to PDC in the very near future i have been told a restarunt/bar called Marios near the Flora and Los Pueblos is amazing for food and extremely frinedly worth a trip i think
