Bloody hell Liam!!!! slow down! take a breath a breath deeply ........
Ok, Lanzarote is in the canary islands, they are spanish islands and they do speak Spanish, (although unlike us they speak lots of other languages too )
Puerto del carmen is the busiest resort on the island, lots of bars!
Good beach!
Very windy!
I have never been bitten there, but cant speak for anyone else.
Its great you will love it!

Hi
We have stayed here a few years ago. I liked it. But the nightlife wasn't as good as the nightlife in Tenerife. I would say that it is a quiet resort but there are a few bars which are lively.
Does it matter where you go holidays are what you make them.
madsue will help you she lives there.

Wow Liam what a lot of questions. Lanzarote is one of the Canary islands, I think it is the closest one to the African coast and only about 60 miles from Africa. It is about a 4 hour flight.
I have been to PC in May and I think for 19 year olds it would be a bit on the quiet side. But there are discos there. Talk to madsue she lives in Lanzarote.
Hope you have a wonderful trip.

Liam can't answer everything but it is lovely and we are staying there in august. Never been bitten by the mossies before. Plenty of places to eat out but not sure what the nightlife is like for youngsters cos the last time we stayed we stopped in teguise. This year we will be in Puerto Del Carmen though.
Have a fab time

PDC has enough bars to be busy enough, there's the odd place going on longer but it's a great place to enjoy yourself. Beer is cheap, and I love the place personally. Make sure you visit the cactus garden, it's stunning, as is Mirador del Rio. Food is available for every taste. Sea will be swimmable, although it's cold when you go in ;)

You should both catch the triathlon then, It's usually the early 20s in May, was the 22nd last year while we were out there. We're heading back later this year due to my brothers university but should hopefully be there by the end of June/first week in July for some lovely weather

I've been to Lanzarote 3 times, twice in a villa in Puerto Del Carmen
You will love it Liam, there is loads of nightlife and lots for you to do.
Its only a small place so if your villa is in Purta del Carmen your taxis will be cheap, the main strip is just full of bars restaurants and clubs.

is the Triathlon like an almighty p**s up?

But traditionally all us residents have to stay the course too!!!!!!!! I usually get down to the start line around 5.30 in the morning, to offer my services to those athletes that need the vaseline rubbed in To be on the beach when they all enter the water at 7 is a sight to behold. The cutoff time for the swim is 9, then its off to (usually) the Toby Jug for a full breakfast. Then down to business at the Spanish Inn, where we set up camp for the rest of the day!!!!!!!!!!! It's thirsty work I can tell you, cheering and clapping the competitors in!!!!! Cutoff time for the whole Ironman is midnight, but then of course you must stay to cheer in the stragglers. Then off we go to Charlies Bar in centro Atlantico till 4.00a.m.
And I will miss it all this year, for only the second time since it has been held here
