Hotel in Prague

Anyone been??
Can u recommend a good 3 or 4* hotel central to the Xmas market.
I'm looking for B+B or HB.Don't mind walking a bit but prefer to be in or around Wenseslas square

Just a word of warning...the Wenceslas Square area is not so nice just sounds Christmassy I suppose...and its not a square.

Parents stayed at the Cloister Inn which is well regarded 3star and well placed for all the sites. We stayed at the City Hotel Moran, which was a bit further out but handy for the underground. Friends stayed at the Aria which they enjoyed, a short walk over the Charles Bridge to the Old Town square area.

Prague is pretty small so if you get a well placed hotel you can walk to most areas of interest in 15-20 minutes.

o Rite....didn't know never having been before
We were looking at the Elysee hotel
Do you know it
sunbear

No don't know the Elysee...but gets good reviews on Tripadvisor and its pretty new so should be in good nick...not too far from the Jalta hotel where we considered staying.

When I said Wenceslas Sq was not so nice I was thinking along the lines of people I know being approched by ladies of ill repute and the like.

I don't mind the odd prossie or two....they don't usually bother couples in my experience.Stayed in the Oro blanco in Tenerife and the street outside was full of them.....left us alone tho.
It was the reviews on trip advisor I was going on for this hotel, plus it's coming out at a reasonable price and the rooms look to be of a decent size and well furnished.I can't abide dirty dingy rooms even if it is only for 3 nights.
I'm still open to suggestions tho

Tango - stayed at the Holiday Inn express - its fab

Close enough to have a 10 minute walk to the square and its all brand new, with a great bathroom and shower and the breakfast was very good too and im sure we only paid about £40 a night
Tango Bunny

ooo off to look at that one too
Tango Bunny

Well it's gone up a lot Gail....it's now 121.50 euro per night
Bit to pricey for us.I'm looking for £40-60 per night
GoldenChippie

eh? what site were you looking on?
Tango Bunny

Alpha Rooms didn't have it do I went onto here http://www.ichotelsgroup.com/h/d/ex/1/en/hpt/PRGOP
perhaps it's not the same hotel....there are a few with a similar name
GoldenChippie

id leave it till late then
Tango Bunny

I don't want to leave it too late because the flights will go up
GoldenChippie

book your flights and then book the hotel late - i do that everytime

there are so many hotels in Prague - dont worry about not getting anywhere
Tango Bunny

I'm just waiting on the ok from another couple.....he works for securicor and has to book his days off......she works with me and I've picked a weekend that neither of us are working so she'll only have to take the Tuesday off.
As soon as I get the all clear from her I'm booking the flights
