Help for dog trampled grassOur lawn is only 1 year old and this winter with all the rain and twelve paws running around there is more muck and running tracks that they continually use than grass.
Will it come back?
Is there anything I should or could be doing to assist its comeback?

Try keep the dogs of the bald bits. Or at least when the grass is wet. If you dont - the lawn WILL be trashed in another 12 months!

Impossible, I cant keep them off the bald bits as that is their "Track" I only hope a good spring feed with help and there is an autumn feed down there already so hopefully it will come back and not be in sh**e for the summer

A good spring feed is what it doesnt want! There is nothing to feed for a start..it will just make it worse. If this is the dogs 'track' it will always be bald im affraid!

cant you make a path where they run, pave it or gravel it off. then they wont ruin your lawn.

I think if you pave it or gravel it the dogs will find another piece of grass to ruin.
Or gardens the same, we decided we wanted a lawn and it was looking quite nice until Rustie got his paws on it.
We've given up now.

My nana's lawn was subjected to a total of 11 dogs in the time they've been there (1 is ours, 2 are my aunties deceased & 1 more is their latest) and her lawn still shows the patches. The only way is to clean up immediately & water it down to dilute the affect it has on the lawn. That aside it will grow back when weather picks up, but may never look pristine. It's just part & parcel of having a loving animal (like the muddy paw prints all the way through our house today!)

We used to have a lovely lush green lawn.....no more .With 3 cavaliers on it all day long and Teegan will scuff after every pee it's now got massive brown patches where the 2 bitches have scorched it and then huge areas of mud.Needless to say I'm sick to death of them tramping it in and out the house so after 5 years of persevering with it we are finally going to flag it over in the spring.
