Would any frog in its right mind try zooming the chicks in below zero temps with its pants down?? theyll all be under cover waiting for warmer weather.

We get them from the big pond out the back of us, the kids are always rescuing them from the main road and taking them back, we have not seen as many as usual, maybe it is too cold for them, or the frogettes are on strike for some reason

I have a pond , not very big one though, but never had any frogspawn in it, but have a few resident frogs and a couple of toads croaking.
i think my fish eat the spawn anyway.

Ours are all at it for England too Dotty, there was no sign of anything until five days or so ago and now there seems to be about twenty or more, some real big beggars too even started getting the spawn. Last year there was that much spawn it covered the whole pond
We have also noticed we have three new baby fish too - bless

We don't have a pond, but in the summer if the french doors are open, we very occasionally get one (just one, and he is massive!) that comes indoors and hops across the lounge floor
Frightens the life out of me, the dog just doesn't know what to make of it!
No idea where it comes from.

Give it a few weeks and we will have them croaking all night ,really loadly, it drives me mad. Not funny.
Ours are slow starters they are always last . My Dad has spawn in his pond weeks before us and he only live a few miles away.
We get so many we have to take them to the park over the road.
We got over 40 out of my Dads small pond last year and a bucket full of spawn that blocked the pump.
I don't mind a few but we get them everywhere.
We had one hopping up the lounge last year while we were watching the T.V with the potio doors open. The dog saw it and all hell let loose.

charlie...i'm not sure how true this is but i did read that frogs...and newts... return to the place they came from in order to reproduce.

I no ,I was told that . I'm not suprised the amount we get. We only live a short walk from the park so I bet they sneak back. I don't no how they get back to my Dads pond it's a 10 min' car ride away.. They must be half pigeon.

Do you know I read a similar thing to that but with snails. If you put a white cross on a snail shell and chuck it over next doors fence, or even take it five houses up the road, the bloody thing will still be back in your garden in a couple of days - will try it out with the tipex next time I see some just to check out the theory Don't fancy paintng a frog tho'
