Used it yesterday and they were gorgeous a lot better than normal , have heard that due to Nigella Lawson raving about it that its got the "delia" effect and may be in short supply
The local Booths(whcih noone has ver heard off on here ) has it on a special offer at the mo , think they are getting it from a farm nearby that supplies geese and the like to many very good restarayunst
definitely go for it i will most defiantely be using it this year

i often use goose fat, it make lovely roasties, makes them very light and crispy. goose fat is quite expensive though, i pay about £3.00 for a little jar in waitrose, cos you can't get it at many stores.

It FAB, but I've made my own in the past before. Whenever I cook a goose, a place it on a wire tray above the tray, and then collect all the fat in the bottom.

Got it in Tesco. I have cheated though!! Tesco finest range of roast pots which are done in goose fat are buy 2 save £1. Just shove the silver trays in the oven!

Can't see how they'd taste as good as they've been frozen. Ewww. Let us know how they taste.

I cooked a goose over christmas and have kept the fat, did roast pots last sunday and they are the best, otherwise I always use lard.

Goose fat is fab for roasties with the added bonus that the oil does smell and it's high in omega so its good for you (got that from Nigella ).

It's not THAT good for you! I think the gains made from the omega fats are far outweighed by the zillions of gallons of pure animal fat and calories. But who cares? It's lovely.

I can ALWAYS convince myself that things that are bad for me are somehow good for me.
Thats why I like watching Nigella.
