Floresta apts , MatagordaI have been treated to a holiday in December from Julie for my 40th recently and she has got a very good deal(so she says) at these apts , does anyone know about them , its All Inclusive so the booze and brekkie and lunch will be ok , but we are worried well she is worried about the evening meals , we know loads of places to go if the food is crap but we really want to just chill and to be honest not spend to much
anyway any help will be grateful , i do know where they are roughly and know the area but its just the complex themselves
cheers

Don't know anything about these apartments but usually the amount you save AI you can usually manage a few meals off complex and still show a profit on SC.

Don't know exactly, but my Mum and Stapdad went to Playa Pocillos (sp?) a couple of years ago and liked the area....it is quite near the airport, but they enjoyed that!!!!! you can walk along past it, and see all the planes

Floresta is closed at the moment TOBG, for a major refit. So have no idea at all what it will be like when it reopens. But you are very near to plenty of decent restaurants if the food really is not up to standard

Thanks for the replies , hope they will be finished by the 6th of December but can always contact who we booked them with to confirm that , i know Playa Poccilos as i stayed there before for the first 15 times at Las Adelfas , but last time i was at that place Matagorda was just beginning to be built up so not been to many places apart from Lenaghans and the few bars that were on the beach road at that time
Airport doesnt bother me at all , as i am typing this 4 jumbos have flown vry low over the house so i am used to it 365 days a year 24/7 as well(even thou they shuldnt fly at night :))
anyway thanks for the help

Well we are back and the full review is here The complex is HUGE and originally was difficult to get around due to the map being crap , we arrived at noonish after great flight and getting a taxi very easily but the room was not ready , so they attached our wristbands (being AI) and told us to get some lunch which was ongoing and get a drink and the room would be ready about 3 ish , the lunch was very nice and the choice was amazing , and the bar was cosy and roomy but as we said below having chairs and tables outside would have been a benefit (too cold my arse) the room when we finally found it was very very good i had asked for a romm in a quiet area but really made a mistake as it was a trek away from the main pool , and bar , there wasnt a kettle in the room but we used a pan and coffee was available all day in the bar anyway ou room overlooked Don Paco complex where they were doing some work but didnt bother us at all the first nights meal was very good and the entertainment was ok , the complex caters more for scandis and germans and you can see this is the food and the entertainment Breakfast was very very good the choice was amazing , again catered for europeans so if you expect english sausage and bacon forget it , the eggs were cooked fresh in front of you but the other stuff including onion rings ?????????? was left in the silver platters and if you didnt time it right for a new batch were not that nice , there was meats cheeses, cereals breads and yoghurts and as much juice and coffee as possible We decided that we would miss lunch during the rest of the week as we wanted to go to the old town and Matagorda(VERY VERY QUIET) and the cost of the holiday was so reasonable that we could actually pick and choose dinners , breakfast got samey during the week but you could have enough and change what you had daly , dinner was again very good and was different each night , they dont really label every dish so you can and will get a surprise LOL Staff absolutely brilliant especially bar staff , waiters were a bit busy so you didnt chat with them , other holidaymakers i was a bit aprehensive as i knew we would be more or less the only brits there so i felt that we may get a bit left out at night when the entertainment was on , NOT ONE BIT this hol has totally changed my opinion on what i had come to think of the arrogant scandis and germans , very very friendly and always talking to us i dont know any german at all so it was great for them to speak english or try to us The area is very peaceful and suited us to the ground there were two supermarkets nearby Spar and Netto and a few bars (where i had to watch the x factor semis:( ) and Lenagahans whhich was brilliant , and it was a 30 min walk to the strip all in all thoroghly reccomend this complex it comes up on the cheaper websites and at a very good price so some can be dubious byt as a lanza veteran this is one of the better i have stayed in and if you do try it and especially on AI ask for a room near the main pool it just makes those walks were lots of drinks a bit easier for you 10/10 and if i could give it more i would

Glad to hear you had a great time TOBG, and thanks for taking the time to write such a great review
Interesting what you say about the Germans and Scandis, bet they've got better manners than some of the brits
It was great to read it while the wind is howling outside
