It's a nice friendly little town. A high street with shops, eateries, car hire, etc. A smallish beach which doesn't usually get crowded. A market one day a week. The ancient leper colony island is only a short hop away by boat. Agios Nicolaos (sp) is a few miles away. A leisurely walk to some.
