Costa Del Sol Mijas area

We are off to the Costa del sol on Saturday for 2 weeks. We have been to most of the places in the area and are looking for somewhere a bit out of the ordinary, we have a car.
Can anyone reccomend anywhere that might be tucked away that we have missed ?
Nice villages etc.
I love lakes waterfalls and wildlife.
We have been to the lakes but didn't really no where we were going and I'm sure missed a lot.

We were in Costa Del Sol about 4 years ago and went up to Ronda and really loved it. The Gorge and Bull Ring are a must see.

Also Mijas is beautiful.

I'm back, we had a good time. The weather wasn't great but it was O.K.
Flights good no strikes or hold ups. We were with Monarch.
Nothing out of the ordinary happend, apart fron the airport at Malaga. It's like a building site. You can't get in and you can't get out. Car hire is a nightmare. We had to queue for over an hour. They were waiting for the incoming cars to get back in and be checked before they could give them out again.
I would advise anyone going to Malaga airport this year to give yourselves at least an extra hour, people were cutting it very close and we were told the week before flight had been missed because of the traffic.

we came back last Saturday & had no problems, we booked the car wth Helle Hollis car hire ( we used them last year and they were great) as you come out of arrivals you turn right & wait for a helle hollis courtesy bus to pick you up , we were only waiting 5 minutes , they take you to their office which is 2 minutes away from the airport (opposite San Miguel factory) we were quickly on our way about 10 minutes after arrival at aiport.

was the same on return, we drove in and someone checked the car over immediately and we were on the bus back to the arport within 10 minutes

Yes I think thats the answer, to be taken away from the airport to pick upthe car. The problem was trying to get onto and off the car park.

We booked with carjet, the queue was up to the top of the ramp.
All the other car hire companies were the same. One lady had been waiting for 1 and a 1/2 hours in the hertz queue.
