Costa AlmeriaIf you are looking for a holiday that is a lot quieter than the other more built up Costas than this one is perfect for you. We stayed in Mojacar and absolutely loved it. We were there in August and it was still rather quiet compared to Costa Del Sol where we had been the previous year.
Mojacar is a really long resort which is very spread out. There is an excellent and relatively cheap bus service which runs the whole length on the Playa.
The beach in Mojacar is lovely but the water gets very choppy and the life guards operate a colour flag system. Green OK to swim, Red no swimming. While we were there the red flag was up at least 5 days of the 14.

There are lots of lovely little villages around Mojacar, we stayed in a villa in Turre which is only a 5 minute drive from Mojacar.
In Turre it was mostly Spanish people and there were no burger bars etc you have to try a bit of Spanish in shops & restaurants.

If you like Fresh Fish head to the Merraconda Supermarket in Garrucha and you have the most fantastic choice of fresh fish.
