Club Alto Do Colina, AlgarveThese apartments are located about 25 minutes walk from the Strip in Montechoro. Be warned the walk home is up a very steep hill.
We stayed here in 2005 and they were just opened and are the best we stayed in. We had a 2 bed apartment to accomadate 6. Three pools in the main part of the complex which includes a kiddies splash pool. Around the back of the complex there are also 3 pools. They are really kiddie pools. Had big problems with the usual sun lounger brigade. If you were not down by 8.30 you would not get a bed. It was easier got a bed round the back pools but my kids being a bit older all wanted to be at the main part of the pool.
Entertainment was very basic and was finished everynight by 11.
Restaurant in the complex was very expensive for what you got and they only time we ate there was the 1st day we arrived.
My biggest gripe about the complex is because you were that bit out from the strip getting Taxis when we were there in July was proving to be a problem. The reception would ring for 1 but even if they needed 8 Taxis would have to ring for each one and it took ages to get through. We found the problem sorted by heading out a bit earlier.
All in all we loved these apartments and would not hesitate to return or recommend them to others.
