CENTER PARCS....UKwell we've been going to CENTER PARCS nearly every year since 1992....and have just never tired of it.
we've always been to the elveden forest site purely because its very close to us (went to sherwood forest site once and stayed in the penthouse villa).
its a very very child friendly place. and they cater very well for the less able bodied.
my daughter, as a young child, loved the kintergarten....and as an older child loved the freedom of being able to walk around with a friend without feeling in any way warey of other adults.
i've never seen anyone drunk or remotely threatening ever on this holiday.
its NOT a cheap holiday but i'm yet to meet anyone who's not enjoyed the experience.
you can do lots of different sporting activities....and even spend the day being pampered....theres something for ALL ages....and the swimming complex is brilliant....AND FREE!!
the accomodation is quite comfy...nearly all having a lake view....which is great when it comes to feeding the ducks...which are plentiful here.
the wildlife is outstanding...i've seen roe deer, woodpeckers, squirrels, voles... even on this holiday we managed to hand feed some baby wild rabbits!!!
the site can be found here.....

I love it.
We've been 3 times in the past 18 months & are going again in December for my 30th.
It can be as cheap or as expensive as you make it. Obviously it's much cheaper if there's a big group of you going.
We paid £400 for just the 2 of us to go for a weekend in Nottingham in June(Executive 1 bed villa) £70 each for 12 of us to go to Elveden in April (2 4 bed comfort villas) & £100 each for 17 of us going to Longleat (3 executive 3 bed villas) in December.
When there we spent most money on food but of course you can eat in to save money.

we've just booked to go back in september.....just me and hubby.
we're going to stay at the hotel accomodation at elveden. for a monday - friday break, with a discount, it will cost us £235. obviously there are no cooking facilities in the hotel room but it does have a fridge...so we can at least have breakfast in our room.
we checked out the hotel rooms before we left....and if anyone has stayed at a "village" hotel...the rooms are slightly better than their rooms.
we're basically spend the week just having a chilling time...the most expensive thing will probably be the sauna....which is a must do thing there.

well we're back.
boy was it a F A N T A S T I C break.
quite different from the last break. this time going out of school holidays made a huge difference it was DEAD..wooo hooo a bonus for us.
we stayed at the hotel, our first time here, after coming back nearly every year since 1992.
the room was good, a bit like a Village hotel room, we had a seating area and a small patio.
as there were no cooking facilities we had to eat out in the evening...for the first time ever we tried the italian restaurant...not a bad price if there were just the two of you and they did a lovely pizza. the indian meal we had was fantastic and certainly was just as good as the one we have at home.
we also had breakfast in La saperine..the al a carte restaurant...ooo that was a real treat and next time we go we're definitely having a full meal here. was a bit strange though it being a revolving restaurant!!
we ate twice in the sports cafe...this offered the best value for money, where you could get a jacket potato meal in the evening for £4.50.
as i said going out of school holidays made a huge difference , there was no problem at all booking things there and then...where normally you have to think at least a day in advance. the swimming complex was also very quiet, which was a bonus when it came to going down the rapids....no shoving or pushing!!
the only problem we had was we WANTED a small child with us....nearly everyone had someone...and all we talked about was ..do you remember when we first did this with emma...and that with emma!! seeing all the little ones faces in the pool...was a bit of a choker...and seeing thier faces when they fed the millions of ducks was another choker.....roll on the grandchildren!!
hubby did the 4x4 wheel drive as a birthday treat. well worth the money. he thought it was brilliant. we also played golf for the first time...and weren't that bad!!
another truely great time here...roll on next year!!
