Caravan Club change of rulesJust in case anyone uses caravan club sites for holidays they have changed their rules on dogs and now the rule is simply no fouling on site this included weeing on site. So if you camp on their sites be prepared to either carry your dog off site in case of accidents or teach them to hold on or possibly float 2 feet off the ground if you can't do the previous two !

Well they usually have dog walks at the periphery don't they, where you are expected to take them for wees and the other. That has been the case for years hasn't it ?

Until this year the rules were if an animal had a problem before getting to the area (they can't always hang on if pitched a fair way away) it was as long as the owner picked up/cleared up the accident. Not any more. I have never found any sites where the rule was not a simple pick up rule as most sites understand animals can't always read the rule books

So when the inevitable happens, what are they going to do about it ?

Hitler like warden berates disabled lady dog owner accusing her of blinding half the children of the world in a lud voice making hte entire campsite look at the action. Well that was my experience ! We luckily were just packing up to leave as I have a feeling he wanted to tell us to leave but couldn't as we were obviously just off.

Well your dog won't blind anybody by weeing, but if your dog is ill, your dog is ill. I suspect the reactions by the hitlers will differ from campsite to campsite depending on whether they have a dog of their own and therefore understand the problem.

Probably, but the new years hand book has the rule as no fouling on site and I have had no response to writing to them to find out if this is right or if they mean pick up/clear up any accidents.
Have to then assume it is the new rule.

So what happens when your dog or cat needs a poo at 4am, do you carry it to the edge of site ?
I say cat cos my cat goes out on a lead to do her stuff then i pick it up ? Although my van is on a seasonal pitch

I can understand that they won't allow dogs to "poo" anywhere, without the owners clearing it up.....
but weeing?
what about the hedghogs and mice and squirrels etc. etc. in the area?
I'm sure wee is not a health risk (even if it does make the grass go yellow sometimes)
I do hope you get the meaning of the rule sorted out, Julie. It would be almost impossible to comply with unless you are able to clear up accidents and allow weeing......
Dogs wee to mark their territory anyway...
and I've never seen a dog on a potty

We don't need to worry any more as we have sold our van and will be holidaying in more luxury from now on, but oddly we thought, when we said we needed a proper explanation or we would leave the club they returned entire our years subscription ! So read into that what you will......
