Hi, we stayed in Barcelona for a night at the end of November. We stayed at the Hotel Catalonia Duques de Bergara on a B&B basis. It's a 4* hotel, and has a small outdoor swimming pool and terrace (which would be lovey for July).
The hotel is situated at the top of La Ramblas and in an excellent position for shops, bars and restaurants. Within a very short walking distance from the train station, which is a direct link to the airport.
We booked this hotel through www.hotelopia.co.uk

Just got back from Barcelona two weeks ago, we stayed at the Fira Palace which is a few metro stops from the centre (the Barcelona metro is excellent at all times of the day).
Its a great hotel, clean, quiet, nice breakfast and good staff. The room was a little worn but anyway I'd recommend it.
