Hi Kazza. When you say the Marriott, do you mean the Marriott Renaissance, on Kattegat, or the Marriott near Leidseplein? If I had to choose, I'd go for the Renaissance, near the station & trams, but in a quiet street, so minimal noise. Website is http://marriott.com/property/propertypage/AMSRD
or you could try the Rho hotel, a nice hotel in aside street off Dam Square - I've stayed there a couple of times, and really like it. Their website is http://www.rhohotel.com/
I used to live over there, and still go back quite often, so if I can help in any way, just ask.

Hi Doonhamer 32
I meant the one near the Leidseplein, we used to go in there for our Pizza's (Pizza hut) We have stayed at the Westropa near it, and Inntel?
What do you think about renting a flat/apartment for the weekend?
In the Leidseplein area or close? Or would it be cheaper in a hotel?
Or can you recomend any good hotels?
Thanks
Kazza

Kazza, apartments can be pricey, but the ones at www.canalapartments.com are fairly reasonable, and quite wellplaced.
If you want a central hotel, try the Rho, or if you prefer the Leidseplein area, try the Hotel Maas, at Leidsekade 91, www.hotelmaas.nl not quite as big as the Rho, but full of character

Thank you,
I think we will stay in a hotel, it's only for 3 nights.
The hotel you stayed in looks very nice.

KAzza, the Rho is a very nice hotel. It used to be a theatre, and the reception area is the old theatre foyer, very art deco. The rooms are of a reasonable size, and the staff are very helpful. I think you'll enjoy it. If you need any more info about Amsterdam, just ask.

We have decided to go to Amsterdam in August, for three nights.
Doe's anyone know what WESTROPA is now called?
We want to stay in that area. Leidseplein.
As we find that the best area to be in.
I am looking for a decent, not too expensive Hotel, B&B.I do like the look of the Rho.
Just what to check all avalible in that area
For two adults only.
Can anyone help?

Hi Debbie,
Thank you for the link.
Hotel Maas reviews not very good, nor was Rho
The one we stayed in and I thought was okay was Westropa, now called Tulip Inn.
The reviews on it are okay, will show Garry later.
