Alcazar Hotel Monte Gordo AlgarveA big hotel very near the beach. Its on a quite back-road, so wherever your room is, you dont get any noise.
The place is spotlessly clean, and is up to modern standards. There is a poolbar, free sun beds, games room and internet access.
The residents are mostly foreign, with the food leaning this way. Breakfast is usualy a mixed buffet.
The age range is about 35years upwards.
The reception staff speak good English, and are very efficient.
The sparse entertainment is dire...unless you are over 70!
This and the food are not a problem, as the local bars and eateries arent far off, and are very good.
The area it is in is all very flat, and handy if you cant walk far.
If you are looking for an inexpensive, good quality, quiet hotel - this place is for you!
The 'down-side', is that it is very near the Spanish border, so will cost you £60-£70 return transfer to the airport. But, it is handy for tripping across to Spain for a couple of quid on the ferry.
