I know what you mean.
When I told my hubby about it, he wanted to know I was reading that sort of book
I started the third one last night.

I did read them all, and the first book really got to me. I think it was one of the first of this type of book to be published in all its gory detail, and it really affected me. But I then got my cynical head on I'm afraid with the release of each consecutive book, not about the contents, but about the fact it was now a great moneyspinner. The floodgates then seemed to open and suddenly there were numerous books on the subject of abuse.
I haven't read any more since then, but do remember the shock of reading it.

right dont you think it goes to show how strenght of his character and his spirit and the fact that he KNEW right from wrong,,,,, made him into the man he is today,,,,,, there are so many that have bad lives and go on to be badder,,,,,,,,,, he didnt
he proved that despite the life he had,,,,,,, underneath it he was a decent, compassionate person,,,,,,,, he overcame it all,,,,,,,, almost

I agree totally Hilda.
He could have easily gone bad, and blamed it on his passed, like Charles Manson to name one.
But he didn't, he was a very strong character, I felt proud how he turned out. The Foster Parents he had helped him....
I was surpirsed he gave his mother the time of day but he did.
And his grandmother. He seems to have broke to mould.
Good on him.
I wish there were so photo's in the book though.

It was Clive that actually stopped me reading when he kept catching me sobbing, he made me think why on earth I was putting myself through the trauma.
