I like Cala Bona and Cala D'or but have been there twice in the last six years.
we went to Cala Bona 2003/2007,Cala D'or 2001/2004,Santa Ponsa 2005 and Palma Nova 2006.Wasn't too keen on Santa Ponsa and Palma Nova/Torrenova was a holiday from hell.
Visited Porto Colom,Soller,Porto Cristo on days out.Deb likes Cala Bona/Millor.We went to Sa Coma for the day this year, stayed one hour and got a taxi back to Cala Bona.Never been to Alcudia,Pollensia or Can Picafort.
Maybe should look at Lanzarote or Tenerife and party with Sue Or Laws _________________ http://myspace.com/keef2

That sounds a much better idea Fenderman, come to Lanzarote and see me, or Tenerife and see laws!!!!!!! For me, Soller is the best place in Mallorca, or Pollensa _________________

We're wondering where to go too, ped and fenderman.....
We've been to Puerto Pollensa lots, and it's just right for us...we like a quieter resort...
Have been to Alcudia too, th0ough....love some shade on the beach, which you get further down from the port.....
but we're worried in case we get bored with PP...
BUT would hate to have a duff holiday somewhere else
I've researched Santa Ponsa, and it didn't fare well in the reviews......
Ho hum...what to do???? |

Hi Sue and Acorn,
Been to Lanza once, stayed in The Cactus Apartments in Pocillos. We only had a week back in 2000.Also been to Gran Canaria,Maspalomas,Didn't like it,Too many drag queens in the Yumbo Centre Also been to Ibiza. Can't make up my mind about Tenerife.I've always fancied going back to Lanza.Just don't like 4 hour flights. _________________ http://myspace.com/keef2

Well it is only ever 3 and 1/2 hours here. The four hours quoted is just so the holiday companies don't have to say they have gone over their alloted time!!!!! So they always arrive "early"
You would have a good time here I'm sure!!!!!!! _________________

Hi Sue/Aspira,
We went to Costa Tequise for a day.Again wasn't too impressed.Much preferred Puerto Del Carmen. We usually went into Del Carmen for a meal.Lanis and other places then ended up later in the Venue at Pocillos,a bar run by a welshman.Every act was from Opportunity Knocks or New Faces .Don't know if it's still there. Also went to Tequise market. That was ok.
I do want to go back to Lanza.
Don't know about Tenerife.I suppose we should give it a try but the reviews on Las Americas are varied.some good, some bad.We usually go away in August but we're not 18 to 30 Christianos looks better.Don't know if i've spelt the names right
Another problem is package or DIY.

The thing with majorca is that its an island with every taste covered, there are lively parts like magaluf and also some lovely quiet coves
we have been going for about the past 11 years and always hire a car and still find new places to explore. Sa Colabra is a favorite of mine a bit scary the first time you drive down the mountain
Last time we went we stayed in the old port area of alcudia and it was a world different to the bellevue area of the resort. |

I think it depends what kind of holiday you are looking for on Mallorca.
We always liked Puerto Pollensa for the beach and there is a lovely place called Pine Walk. Bars, pine trees (obviously) and then the beach - no cars.
We have stayed in Palma Nova in our younger days. Plenty of things going on and if my memory serves me right there is a water park nearby and other touristy things.
Some friends of our went to the city of Palma for a short break and loved it.
We enjoyed an excursion to the Caves of Drach (think that's how you spell it).
In saying all that haven't been to Mallorca for years so the places we went to may have changed a bit but all in all we have fond memories of Mallorca and I'm sure you will have a great holiday there. _________________

Have you been recently then Acorn. I was wondering if it had changed much over the years. We were told that they were not allowed to build over three storeys high with any future builds. Although I know the Hotel Diana and Hotel Capri on the front were over 3 - are those hotels still there? We stayed three times at the Villa Concha do you know it?
