Im having my family to dinner on christmas day and want to know what is the best stuffing to serve with turkey and ham. Im wondering if sage and onion is ok or do I do chestnut - which is nicer to complement both foods. Im also doing bread sauce and cranberry sauce so Im a bit unsure

Why not do both? Maybe stuff the turkey with the sage and onion (I like to add to mine - grated lemon rind and juice, garlic, an egg). Then make seperate stuffing balls to serve on the side - try adding chopped dried apricots, grated apple, orange, cranberries etc - its fun just to experiment. :D

Chestnut Stuffing, my mum makes it every year for me, with chestnuts, onions and bacon (it is the only time I eat bacon )
It is lovely, and makes a change from the bog standard sage and onion I have every time I have a roast Chicken.
