What sort of entertainment do you like on your holiday?
Daytime usually have breakfast around 11am,have a look around the shops until 1pm or so,then either back to the hotel or the beach.Deb loves to sunbathe while I read or listen to the ipod while drinking 1 or 10 Bacardi and Cola light.Always take a couple of books and the ipod holds a 1000 songs.Everything from the Beatles,Pink Floyd,Tom Petty,Bruce Springstein,Dylan, sixties stuff to the Arctic Monkeys
Late afternoon, have a nap for a couple of hours, then get ready to go out for a meal and look for some good live music not krapeoke Several more drinks then fall into bed
Of course We don't do this everyday(drink I mean). We also go out on trips
last year we went to Soller on the train from Palma,Did Marineland,Palma.
We were in Santa Ponsa but spent a few days in Palma Nova as some friends of ours were staying there.
There are some decent bands on the island, usually in small bars.Abba,Beatles,BeeGees,Madonna and pretend Platters,Drifters,Four Tops,Temptations ,Robbie and boy bands tributes are the norm.and not forgetting Leapy Lee,Oh all right then
Its a great two weeks. Then back to reality
Always now go on a Thursday or a Friday so we've got the weekend off before we're back in work.Oh! almost forgot the other entertainment
Nuff said

Sorry I would have replied but I'm only just seeing this one

We get up fairly early so after breakfast we go down to the pool area to set up towels etc ,then go for a nice long walk along prom or beach.Usually pick up some lunch and then back to the pool for a lounge.I will read and OH listens to music.About 11.30 he usually has a pint and I'll have a soft drink then we have lunch.
Then it's more reading and drinking sometimes alcohol but we don't drink much during the daytime. We usually go up to our rooms by about 4ish for a siesta and then when we wake up have a drink or a cuppa and play a few hands of cards on the balcony and people watch.
After showering changing and getting ready we go for our evening meal.
Then I usually do some serious shopping before heading to whichever pub /bar we have chosen for the evening.
I usually like to go to caberet bars offering a range of comidians/singers etc but if that's not available then we'll head for an irish bar or somewhere that looks a bit lively.
If it's somewhere we have not visited before then we will fit in a few trips to see local tourist attractions but if we've been before then we tend to dtay by the pool.We like the beach to walk on in the mornings but couldn't spend all day there....I suppose it's because we live right next to one so it's not a novelty for us

I am similar to you Fenderman, although my NEW ipod will hold 25,000 songs, waste of time I don't own that many The good think is I can rip my DVD's to it for this year and watch those as well.

Replace Lager for B&C, plus I have to take loads of books, ususally get them from charity shops so I can leave them over there :D took 10 last time, and still ended up swapping with other holiday makers as I had finished them by the end of the first week. Missus goes for a siesta, and I usually sit on the balcony with a few cold ones and a book.

Evenings we go for a wander around the shops, then have meal. Then its off round the bars to see if Mythos tastes the same in each bar in Kardemena :D This is an ongoing experiment and have not yet got enough data to publish my findings.

Usually have a day out in KOS, mainly for SWMBO she loves her shopping.

All in all totally relaxed, don't have to do anything just sit, relax and recharge.

Hi Tango and Dougie,
It's good to chill out on the balcony with a cold drink and a good book while OH sunbathes.I can't lie in the sun,I get bored and think I'm missing something. This year in Palma Nova I 'll have do some research in the bars too.Last time I was there in 1999,it was the first time in Majorca and we had two teenagers with us.It's now completely different with just the two of us.Got to think of things to talk about. Still I'm really looking forward to it.

Tango,
She'll never let me in the strip club. We went into Palma Nova last year a few times. Some friends were in the Barcelo PM apartments where Liam stayed. We 'll take a good look around this time. There's plenty of shops to keep OH happy. We prefer it a bit quieter than Magaluf, too old for BCM now Just about right for Adam Goodfellows Bar.

I wasn't suggesting you go to the strip club hun....anyway you don't need to if you go to the tribute bar next door the girls are often hanging around talking to the PR's while they wait for their turn to go on....they are wearing next to nothing so they don't leave a lot to the imagination.

She'd give me a dig if she saw me looking, thats why I wear dark glasses.
If our friends decide to come away as they do most years,it should be ok.
We get on alright except we fall out about football. He's a red but we all like the same sort of entertainment. He's more pervy than me though.

i know which bar you mean tango, we found ourselfs accidently going into the strip club instead of the bar though.

as for entertainment, We got up at like 10,jumpedinto the pool to sober up, got out, went down the hill for breakfast. went back, pool again, then had alot of drinks, then hit the beach. Watched the ashes or football. played football or cricket on the beach, sunbathed and listened to music,

Then at night, we did various things, Cabaret, Kareoke,Pirates, Foam partys(which are lethal,i nearly drowned in foam.) pub crawl, etc.

fenderman, did you go to the pirates show? i thought it was brilliant, well worth the money.

Hi Liam,
I've never really fancied the Pirates show.Heard a lot of good and bad things about it.It was featured on Tv a while back. One of the guys who used to be in the show, left and formed a rock band,He was the drummer I think. They sounded good.I prefer to listen to bands if there is any about nowadays

I only managed to see one live band whilst out there, and they were really good, i forgetthe name, but the Lead guiatarist had a vintage fender Strat, after the gig i offered him 900 euros for it, and he said it cost about 14 times more, it was mint. and he had a Valve amp, which made me get a valve amp.

They were a cover band, and always drew a big audience, we saw them in the bar across from Mulligans.

we are going to try to get a gig out there when we go out, we know a few of the reps for goodfellas and three lions, so were going to talk.

Hi Liam,
Talking about Fenders,I have a 1962 Strat which i've had for years.
Its the red one on my avatar. Its not all original because I've changed a few things over the years. One pickup was damaged so that was replaced sometime in the seventies. Also its been refinished in red.It was originally orange. Neck date is Nov 62 B and the serial number is L01392.I still use it now in my Grumpy old men band.
If I would have known it would become so valueable I wouldn't have changed anything on it.It's got to be worth £3/4 Grand.Seen original ones go for mega money.
I've also got 57 Strat reissue which is a Jap one which is really nice and a Black Telecaster which I made with genuine Fender parts with Seymour Duncan pickups.Got a Burns Marquee and a white Les Paul revelation made by MD.Good guitar. Can't get anymore guitars, she'd go mad.
Don't they have some Decibel restriction gadget over there. Most bands I've seen haven't been loud enough or maybe I'm a bit deaf after years of drummers banging away.
By the way,I use a Marshall Valve amp sometimes. Also a marshall with the effects which is solid state.
Good luck, hope you get some gigs in Majorca.
