Mention Stoupa and most people will say never heard of it. It is in mainland Greece in the Peloponnese. If you look at a map of Greece there are three fingers pointing toward Crete. It is on the west side of the middle one you fly to Kalamata airport. We got there in the middle of the night, it takes about an hour to transfer.
It is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been. There are no motorised water sports no Clubs or discos. There many bars and restaurants and the area is full of fruit trees and the smell of sage an herbs everywhere.
There are a couple of hotels but lots of apartments.
At the back of Stoupa are the Taygetos Mountains, lots of walking trails and many hikers. There are two main beaches Stoupa beach and Kalogria beach. The latter would put the Bahamas to shame. Soft white sand and the clearest sea ever. There a few tavernas there. The one downside is that there is very little in the way of public transport. The roads are very quiet so its no big problem. Agios Nikolaous is a lovely fishing village about ten mins drive from Stoupa. While we were there we went on trip to Olympia. It is a lovely site to visit. There are organised trips to various places organised by reps or travel agents. We went in October and the weather was lovely. There is a link to some photos in the Holiday Snap section.

Try one of the links for photo's or a panoramic flash movie..

It also looks great on google earth with the mountains as you can "fly" in from the sea with the mountains behind..

Sorry K& R for not answering must have missed it . The weather was lovely in Oct I would say about 80 degrees. Cooler in the evening. They say the sea is warm enough to go in until beginning of Nov. If you want to do a weather check the nearest place to check is where you fly to which is Kalamata about one hour away.
