My younger son (age 21) is hoping to visit Atlanta, Georgia sometime...possibly this autumn.......to stay with some people he has met on the internet ( )(who am I to criticise????)
Now we have never been to USA, and would appreciate some advice please.
He will be getting himself a new passport, as his current one runs out early next year.
We understand he can stay for up to 90 days.
is it best to have a visa?
We've looked at flights, they seem to be approx £525 for a direct return flight, with Delta airlines....but he doesn;t know his dates yet....how likely are the prices to rocket nearer the time?
any other tips gratefully accepted

No he doesnt need a Visa once he doesnt plan on working in the States. He will be entering the US under the VWP (Visa Waiver Programme).
That price seems rather expensive. We are using Delta to go to the US in December. We are flying from Shannon to New York spending a few nights and flying with Delta again from Orlando and return flight home and it only cost £320.
If its his first trip to the US & He will be travelling on his own make sure you get him a direct flight. Delta will probably be his best bet because Atlanta is their main base. _________________
