Haven't made it for years but used to and it was lovely!
Ingredients:
8 oz short crust pastry (mix, frozen, whatever)
3 oz grated cheddar cheese
small tin carnation milk
quarter of a pint milk
4 rashers bacon
2 eggs plus one egg yolk
half a small onion, chopped
salt and pepper
Line flan dish with pastery.
Beat eggs in a bowl, add cheese, milk, carnation milk and s+p.
Lightly fry bacon and onion and add to egg mixture.
Mix it all up, pour it into the flan base and bake for 30 to 40 mins at Gas Mark 5 |
