Well I love the city and I have been twice and home to make a 3rd visit next year and bring the kids with me.
My 1st piece of advice to anyone thinking of going to NY is to get your flights sorted 1st. There is such a choice of hotels in NY that it will fall into place once you have your flights.
Remember October/November/December are considered high season in NY and hotel rates will be at a premium.
We have done Mamma Mia twice and loved everybit of it both times. There are various sites that offer discount codes for some of the shows.
If anyone has any specific things to ask by NY please dont hesitate to ask and I will try and answer as much as I can.

I have been looking into it and Continental flying from Manchester are very good and also Delta are starting a service , both will be easy for you McBabe than travelling down to London etc , i am lucky in respect my freind is from New York and has a family beach house in New Jersey so when i get over we intend to spend time there and then go down to Lewes in Delaware where he lives for a few days and maybe go and see his son In Philly
the flights out of manchester direct to New York are
Delta , BA and PIA(MAYBE GIVE THAT ONE A MISS) direct to JFK
AND Continental DIRECT to Newark _________________ "London's got its gimmicks and New York's had its minute But Knutsford City limits I'll never change"Well maybe for Madrid !!!

When we went in January we flew with Continental we flew into Newark.
Now I dont know if it the same from the UK but from Ireland Continental fly smaller aircraft, 3x3 rows. Previous time I did it we flew into JFK with Aerlingus and it took 5.5 hours this time it took 7. I dont know if Neward is further west or the fact they use smaller aircraft. Just something to bear in mind.
