I fancy going to Turkey. I've never been before and would appreciate some recommendations.
When is a good time to go? Where is the best part? I like somewhere where there are plenty of restaurants, plenty to do, but I'm not bothered about millions of bars and nightclubs.
Like a hotel with a nice pool, so I can lay and read my book - I like the simple things in life when I'm on holiday. But I also like a location with easy access to buses so I can explore, so there must be places to visit.
Gunny, I loved the look of that hotel you sited - looks lovely. can you tell me more? Do you book through the travel agent?
Thanks all in advance.

GQB
We went to Turkey for the first time last October.
Stayed at the WOW Topkapi Hotel, Antalya. This was a wonderful, all-inclusive hotel with 2 swimming pools (one with a wave machine), and a seperate area with water slides.
Situated right on the sandy beach, with most water sports included (except jet skis and parascending).
Numerous restaurants snacks and bars throughout the complex.
In an isolated area, but we went on a couple of trips which can be booked via Rep or hotel. Taxi's congregate outside the main entrance, so it's easy to make your own way.
Only downside was the weather. It was glorious during the daytime, but at night, the weather was really cold (last week in October).
Would love to go again, but would choose to go late May to late September. |

Jackie.you can book Club Turquoise through www.directholidays.co.uk
We usually go the 2nd and 3rd week of june as its not mega busy though it is busy and its not too hot though still in the 90`s most days.
Club Turquoise is situated in the Armutalan district of Marmaris which is a bout a 20 min walk from the main centre or you can catch these little buses called a dolmus every 10mins for like 40p.
There plenty shops for clothes etc bars and restaurants within minutes of walking out Turquoises front door and theres entertainment every night in the complex.
The management are good and theres a security gaurd at night, but its not one of those noisy places anyway and you are garaunteed a good nights sleep. The rooms are spotless and the maids are in every day.
The pool is big and theres lots of sunbeds.
We usually book about 4-5 weeks before we go and last year Me jacqui and the 2 kids went for £1036 for 2 weeks self catering.
if you want to see more photos or that pm me ur email addy and i`ll send you some from last year.
Gunny.
Dougie that can probably be the 1st hotel review on the Turkey forum _________________

Hisarnou EVERY TIME! Three resorts in one GQB!!!
See the Turkey brochures with the turquiose lagoon? That's Olu Deniz....10 minutes dolmus ride up into the mountains is the resort of Hisaronu...all the night life you could wish for ...its quite quiet in Olu Deniz of an evening. Far better to base yourself in Hisaronu...and its cooler of an evening too. Continue for another 20 minutes and you hit Fethye ...BIG town...loads to see and do. When in Hisaronu visit the ghost town of Kaya Koi.....where the greeks were repatriated in the 1940's or about then ...and the turks would not inhabit. Brilliant place! Go to the mud baths at Dalyan...parasail off of Babadag Mountain and land on the beach at Olu Deniz (been there..got the pictures...after going up the mountain in a jeep...I was going to jump cos I certainly wasn't going to get into that jeep again! )....Visit Saklikent gorge..where they filmed Indiana Jones....I'll stop now . Have done Turunc, Kalkan but been back to Hisaronu LOADSA TIMES! My favourite! |
