A few weeks ago my Parents asked me to find them a holiday on the Norfolk Broads to celebrate their 48th wedding anniversary, They had had their honeymoon there so were keen to revisit. I dissuaded them from a boating holiday as their honeymoon had been as they were not as nimble or lithe as they were so I was set a task of finding a waterfront property,
This was a rather large task as it was very short notice and availability would be practically none,. I spent three days on the internet searching for something suitable for them. I was determined to find them something lovely, and I discovered this gem,
I looked in awe at the photos on the site, and immediately called my parents with my find.
The second they saw it they said “book it!
I emailed them and very promptly to a reply from James who confirmed that they had availability for the week my parents wanted.
I had a confirmation email which also contained a couple of links to a handmade truffle shop, and a handmade cake shop in the locality, he said that if I wanted to order a cake for them he would go and collect it and deliver it to them on their anniversary!
So unbeknownst to my parents I rang the Cake shop up and ordered a cake, she knew the owner of the mill and arranged with him to collect it.
My parents arrived and rang me to tell me what a beautiful and peaceful place it was,
They had a tour of the mill and the history and surrounding explained to them by James!
There was nothing that James and Nick wouldn’t do to m make my parents stay special, and not just my parents either, they were attentive to other guests with out encroaching on anyone’s privacy.
On the Anniversary day my parents rang me to say that at 4pm Nick had knocked on the door and presented them with a beautifully boxed cake with a card written by the cake shop but from myself!
Then as a final surprise my parents were treated to a serenade on the grand piano in their cottage by Nick who is a classical pianist!! He also took photos of my parents receiving the cake and emailed them to me the very next day.
This has been the most wonderful holiday for my parents, the location was perfect, quite, peaceful yet within reach of most places be it the sea or the broads or Norwich itself.
On the final Saturday Nick decided to let my parents have a rowing boat for the afternoon, but would not let them row. He had an outboard motor on his boat and took them off down the river for an hour or so!
I feel I have to recount these things that the owners did for my parents not just because it was their anniversary but I feel they are a couple of extremely pleasant and helpful people.
The Mill is a beautiful place and I hope that any of you that choose to go have as good and memorable time as my parents did.

I'm so glad they had a good time hilda
you really found them a great location
I know a lot of thought, effort and time went into it, and I'm sure your parents appreciate it
and it's so nice to hear of somebody going out of their way to help "customers" _________________
